Irrigation and recycled water systems typically have nutrients that provide a good culture medium for algae and fungi.
Many of these systems use ultra-violet light systems (UV disinfection) to destroy all kinds of bacteria and fungi. However,
the presence of algae in quantity that are not killed by the UV treatment reduces the water transparency and thus hinders
the UV light penetration and its effectiveness. The LG SONIC TANK, however, sees to it that the algae are killed and drift
away or can be removed easily so that the water stays clear and the intended disinfection takes place. To download the
LGSonicTank information click on the link below:
Moreover, the power consumption of the UV high-pressure lamps can be reduced drastically due to the improved water
clarity, thus saving power costs while optimizing UV disinfection capacity. The LG SONIC TANK transducer and power
output is similar to the LG SONIC POOL, the primary difference being that it comes with a float.
The main market for the LG SONIC Tank is the horticulture or market-gardening industry, growers of plants, flowers,
fruits, vegetables etc., who use water for irrigation, sprinkling, spraying etc., where algae might cause clogging in parts of
the installation. For irregularly shaped larger ponds, the LG SONIC Tank can be used to treat hidden back coves or off-
shoots as part of an overall treatment plan.
Applications and Technical Data:
The LG SONIC Tank has been proven successful in many worldwide applications with control ranges of up to 100 feet
(30 meters) for roaming algae. Potential applications are: Industrial water supplies, small ponds, drinking water storage
tanks, cooling towers, water purifying system, horticulture water storages, irrigation systems, recycled water containers,
aquaculture raceways, and waste water.
