- Taste and Odor Removal (Reduction)
- Efficient iron and manganese removal
- Color Removal
- Efficient disinfection over a wide range of temperature and pH
- Destruction of bacteria, viruses, spores, giardia and cryptosporidium with brief contact periods. Ozone Ct value for
a 3 log giardia cyst inactivation is 1/100th that of chlorine and 1/1000th that of chloramine. - Reduces the formation of disinfection by products (DBP) such as TTHM and HAA5
- Does not require the on-site storage of other chemicals with the associated hazards and costs.
- Rapid oxidation of organic impurities with the reduction of BOD and COD
- Hydrogen Sulfide Removal
- Ozonation can reduce the chemicals needed for flocculation or flotation by 20-50% while improving filter
performance due to micro flocculation effect - Reduces turbidity and dissolved organic carbon by enhancing aerobic digestion in biologically active filters
- Reduces the amount of chlorine required to maintain a residual in the distribution system
- Remove synthetic micro pollutants found in surface and ground water.
